Two Results A Leader Always Gets
There are (2) things you always get as a leader.
You always get what you CREATE.
You always get what you ALLOW.
If you’re allowing bad behaviors to persist… It’s on you as the leader.
If you’re allowing mediocre performance to be accepted and not providing feedback or coaching… It’s on you as the leader
If you’re creating a toxic work environment where trust has evaporated… It’s on you as the leader
If you’re creating an environment where your team feels like a number instead of a human… It’s on you as the leader
If you’re creating and/or allowing an environment where your teammates feel valued, accepted, free to ideate and try things, where feedback is bi-directional and fair, where performance is rewarded and potential is unlocked and deployed…It’s on you as the leader.
You always get what you create and allow. Allow the right things or create a new norm.
How to drive it to action:
Evaluate what behaviors you are allowing within your area of influence and make small changes. Are they pushing your leadership culture forward or pushing it in a different direction? Are you allowing things to happen because you’re scared to confront something or someone?
